They generally have a good mix of songs that they can play for you. When you are evaluating bands, you want to do more than just hear them sing. As if you can see a listing of the various songs that they play. The last thing you want is to have very many of them not be something you want to listen to all night long. Some of these bands are very open to suggestions though. If you have a particular song that you would love to have your first dance to as a married couple, they may be willing to learn it. Don?t be hesitant to tell them songs on the playlist that you don?t want as well as to play certain songs for you. If they can?t meet what you need then keep looking for a band that can. If you hire a DJ, you will need to go through the same process. Of course they should have more of a selection of music for you than what a live band would have. The good news is that a DJ is often less expensive. The key is to take your time to find the right person to play the right music for your reception. You want to have a mixture of fast and slow songs for everyone to dance to. As a couple what is the first song you should dance to? It should be a slow song and one that has special meaning to the two of you. Not every couple has a song though and that is nothing to stress over. There are a couple of exceptional Elvis Presley songs including Love Me Tender and I can?t Help Falling in Love with You. These are songs that everyone there will know and will feel very comfortable dancing to as well. You want some of the music at your wedding reception to be fun for the guests as well. Consider adding some that are timeless and will get people moving to the beat. They include YMCA by the Village People and the Locomation by Kylie Minoque. Celebration by Kool and the Gang is one that they will all know the words to as well. The end of the wedding reception means that you should play a song or two that is very inspirational as well. You can make them either fast or slow songs but put some thought into what you offer. Save the Best for Last by Vanessa Williams is very common. You can also have one that is very trendy right now so that you are ending the wedding reception on a note that is in present time. Make sure you have a large enough dance floor for the amount of people that will be at your wedding reception. If you have taken your time to choose a very good selection of songs then you will find more people out there than sitting in their seats for the majority of the reception. When you put effort into choosing many of the songs to be played at your wedding, you will think of them often when it they come on the radio or you hear them at other locations. You want to make sure positive memories are associated with all of it.
